Junior WordPress Developer
As our Junior WordPress Developer, we’re looking for someone to be excited by developing and integrating user interfaces across a variety of new and existing projects, covering both front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript as well as some back-end development using primarily PHP.
Our ideal match would be someone looking to make a lasting impact by jumping into the detail, being adaptable and taking a pro-active approach to every task.
Your day-to-day might look something like:
- Taking website projects from concept into development, through to launching onto a live environment.
- Collaborating with an approachable team of brand, marketing and digital champions to understand the client’s needs
- Delivering high-quality work that aligns with the client’s brief & scope but is improved with a developer’s inputs and expertise
- Attending internal team meetings to discuss projects, timings, status and deliverables
- Pulling together training packs to ensure clients understand how to use their new site’s functions
- Qc’ing your own and other’s work to ensure things are sent out right first time
- Making suggestions around best practice process
- Problem-solving
Ideally, we’d love it if you have:
- Full-stack web development skills (HTML, CSS, JS)
- Knowledge of GIT
- Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL aand WordPress. Even better if you know Laravel too.
- The ability to plan and build custom post types, flexible template components and bespoke WordPress plug-ins
- MySQL database skills
- An understanding of UX principles
- A sunny, optimistic outlook
- A self-motivated & independent spirit
- Buckets of enthusiasm and initiative
- An exacting eye for detail
- Pride in being a clean coder
- A sense of where you want to improve, with a desire to independently work to get there
- An interest in wider web industry trends and innovations
